The above plant--scarlet runner bean--from an earlier summer picture, is looking much less graceful at this point. Everything is looking really bad. I can't even summon up the energy to water anymore because it is just pointless. Even with water, the intense heat has done a number on just about everything in the garden. I can't take much more of this heat, I'm telling you. I need to do some work out there in the garden, but things are going sorely neglected. Grandma always said, "Don't wish your life away," but I'm starting to wish for Fall in the worst way.
